Direct Democracy Database
The database provides information on whether and how direct democracy mechanisms are being used around the world.
The database is divided into global regions, as well as by the type of political organisation or system.
Information can be searched on the basis of specific direct democracy mechanisms including referendums, citizens’ initiatives, agenda initiatives and petitions.
Data was originally gathered in 2008 and updated in 2013-2014.
