Is Lobbying Good for Democracy in the European Union?
Debating Europe

The link is to a public discussion forum called Debating Europe that debates whether lobbying is good or bad for democracy in the European Union.

Questions are put by citizens directly to European Parliament MPs who respond to issues such as whether lobbying is good thing because it helps to organise interests and viewpoints, and whether lobbying provides a range of critical viewpoints that aid in the development of good legislation.

Other issues canvassed include whether lobbying is geared to helping corporations shape policy, and whether giving the European Parliament more staff and resources would offset its reliance on lobby groups for information.

The forum also provides a range of statistics on the scope of lobbying in the EU.
